Beginnings
To understand where Ragini began, we only need to look at where she is now. She is reconnecting to her roots: a little girl opening her windows to the vastness of nature… dreaming of what lay behind the mount top. Her childhood was spent dancing, playing, riding her cycle, climbing walls… never returning till her home called. A girl who just followed her curious heart. This innocence of life was and continues to be the essence of her soul.
As she grew up and moved away from home for schooling, it found its emergence in her wish to keep exploring, in childlike mischief & wonder… in endlessly creating & imagining. Her years began to be filled with the sounds of her dancing feet that organically took her to choosing dance as a profession.
Unmap
Her world got bigger… yet a dream remained hidden. Anyway, she carried on, living life, teaching & travelling till she finally took a grand pause. Goa became home for Ragini’s journey deep into herself, of seeing the world anew and discovering the art of stillness. In the quietude of self and nature, transcendence became an ever present companion. Her travels continued and took her to faraway places, both outside and within her. Hence began a lifelong search for a quality of the unknown. Being unafraid of getting lost, of not knowing all the whats or whys… of exploring for the sake of ‘why not’… till something appears or is stumbled upon. Connecting to spaces and humans crossing by, uncovering stories. She now lives in this eternally sweet tide of being & flowing; collecting timeless ingredients for art & life. This is Ragini returning to herself: in the unknown.
Rediscover
In her discovery of self and world, she found a vacuum where for most, the essence of art gets lost with time. It becomes boxed into a category of its own. As though it can only exist in a fixed manner where art is produced at a rapid rate and people who create art become forgotten fragments. Ragini believes that through art, humans can gradually create a way of life they’ve always dreamed of. For art is a merger of adding newness to the old, and the familiar. We all resort to art to deal with non-artistic events in our lives, to share joy and to express pain. Yet, art continues to exist on the fringes.
What about living a life of art(istry)? What if art occupied the centre stage? What if we looked at our very fact of existence as a pursuit of creativity, imagination and exploration?
These musings birthed an insight: to look at humans and their art as the core of being an infinite artist because art is in everything and everyone. From here began another journey: of creating processes for humans to rediscover themselves through art.
Possibilities
Once she unlocked the portal of such expansive explorations, all seemingly disjointed aspects of life became one. She continues to spend her days dancing, playing, exploring, creating, and making every single second her own… freer than she has ever been.
Her story is always as unwritten as it is written, everything is subject to change, to a different possibility, where there is always space for more… then some more… the potential for life is infinite. And in infinity, Ragini found a twinship. An eternal inspiration to keep going. She discovered the magic of being aligned to the cosmos, becoming free from the permanent, fixed and unchanging.
Infinity or infinite art, became a truth and symbol of a surrender to the unknown; a celebration of the unknown. Which in itself is the seed for its namesake: Infinite Artiste. A space, created for humans to experience an artistic upbringing through unique artistic languages developed by Ragini. Like alchemists, who turn ordinary metals into gold, she transformed her life’s learnings into mentoring precious processes that help humans dive into their selves, to find the answers (and questions) necessary for their artistic journey.
These processes go beyond the what, into the “why” of body, movement and creativity. As such, like a parent who inculcates values in their children, Ragini’s processes pour a curious, spontaneous and visionary spirit into her students. They learn to look at the world with eyes that can see abundant art in everyone, everything, but most importantly in their selves.
Legacy
Infinite Artiste is thus that hidden dream, becoming a lived one. It is also a hope and message to everyone to return to the inner artist that’s been pushed into hiding. It is a soft rebellion, perhaps a revolution in the making. It’s radical to return to a life of being an infinite artist and explorer. Infinite association, infinite explorations & infinite creations make up the ethos of this lifelong artistic upbringing.
