Ragini has not only danced but also worked towards developing dance. In 2014, she birthed the Jazz Funk Division at TDX, stepping one step closer to one of her dreams of creating dance languages.
I just wanted to create as I was discovering that side of me. I used to play music and let my body just move. It was the first time I combined everything – my rebellious mind, my personality, what I feel, dance styles, technique – with a touch of craziness. I liked how edgy and raw it made me feel. – Ragini, on the inception of the idea of her own dance language.
Ragini has single-handedly designed this commercial dance language which embraces choreography and movement style with a rawness of attitude & groove, making each one a star. Her Jazz Funk choreographies are aced with complete ownership and build a strong sense of self.
Over the years she has developed her unique language RAGA in contemporary movement as well. This language is inspired by freedom and rhythm, and the belief in one’s ability to transcend physical space through mindful exploration. With RAGA, you find yourself as a free moving being, rather than exploring dance as a construct. It is a process of ultimate freedom through movement. As Ragini describes it, it’s ‘Creation…creation of you’. This is where the process of RAGA springs from, creating a journey of deep self exploration. Her passion for people reflects in the language, as each person transforms into a unique being guided by the rhythm of life.
These dance styles are now openly available through a range of curated programs.
Today, Ragini has set up her own dance school currently running online. The curriculum created offers not only transformational programs but individualistic mentoring for 360° growth, and dance classes are nurtured in an environment of nowness and process. As she believes in people, Ragini’s programs have been crafted keeping everyone in mind. Be it commercial or artistic, the process of all movement is unique owing to her artistic instincts and technical training.
Ragini visualises a unique space for artists, dancers, and humans in general. Her aim is to build a creative space of constant exploration and innovation. She is working towards inculcating universality through all her work, creation and associations by going global. Her passion lies in teaching, sharing and impacting lives forever.
