para on art

art came into existence as a form of making meaning of the world. (pre-historic cave paintings). it evolved to help people experience time differently and evolved into art forms – a process of creation. (development of books, theatre etc). all the olden books and plays were so long… because art was not something to be consumed but savoured. cut to now, where Instagram culture has pushed art to the backseat. almost, numbing people by keeping them scrolling to pass the time – to not be bored or empty enough to find their own creativity. (doom scrolling). as though art is something to quickly move from one to the next… no luxury to deeply immerse… to soak… in art.
